Tonantzin Art GATE
with Jennifer Colby*
January 7-17, 2008

TIME & SPACE TO DREAM & CREATE

Join other women artists to learn about Goddess mythology of Central Mexico, travel to ancient sacred sites, meet and share with contemporary Mexican women and celebrate the experience through sharing, ritual and days for creating art.

All artists are welcomed! Jennifer is skilled at bringing out creativity in non-artists and you will be exploring your own creative abilities through many media, including writing, photography, and many visual art forms, all in a supportive non-judgmental environment.

*Jennifer Colby holds a Ph D. in Women's Spirituality.  She is an artist, curator and educator in the Humanities.  Her cross cultural doctoral research explored women artist's visual interpretations of Guadalupe in rural California/Aztlan, which are a part of the yearly conference and exhibition, "Images of the Virgin" she has organized at Galeria Tonantzin since 1992.

Cecilia Corcoran, Ph D., will also be co-facilitating this program.  She has co-directed GATE for 16 years.  Through her doctoral reasearch she began Women's Spiritual Quest.  To read more about this history, click here.
