Meet face-to-face in Oaxaca the indigenous reality that includes a variety of ethnic cultures, traditional cuisine, arts and handicrafts. Learn of the challenges for education and agricultural sustainability. Understand the reasons for increased emigration from this southern state and the struggle for inclusion in a society with different values.

  • Walk the historic center of Oaxaca City
  • Guided explorations of the Rufino Tamayo Prehistoric Art Museum
  • Visit area villages known world-wide for the quality of their indigenous arts and handicrafts
  • Presentation on human rights
  • Walk around El Tule--2000+ year old Cypress tree
  • Visit a women's cooperative
  • Learn how people's lives are impacted by policy
